My-King, Messiah, Cheeseman make 2017 Preseason All-Name Team

They might not all be good players — some might not even play — but they all have winning names.

After poring through all the rosters for the Power 5, we’ve come up with the 2017 Preseason College Football All-Name team.

One is a king, one is a prince, one is a Messiah, and one is a Cheeseman.

So even if they don’t play, may these names be remembered.

Well, with that name, did anyone else stand a chance?

Jake Butt top tight end

(The headline writer did this on purpose, right? … It’s from NCAA.com … Maybe it’s just my sophomoric sense of humor.)

The winner for the award for the nation’s best tight end went to Jake Butt, a Michigan senior.

Butt was announced on Wednesday (Dec. 7) as the recipient of the John Mackey Award presented by the Friends of John Mackey. The award honors the most outstanding tight end in college football.
