Week 12 college football picks … stop picking on me!

picks college footballOn paper,  this week should be the easiest week to pick college football games. Way too many top teams playing weaker opponents, including Alabama (just a little rat poison there).

The Citadel at Clemson, Louisiana-Monroe at Auburn, Michigan at Wisconsin … it’s pathetic, really.

On with the picks …

Get to pickin’

Here are my picks for Week 11, again, without even thinking:

Virginia at Miami: 45-14, Miami. No letdown from the Hurricanes after last week’s blowout.

Georgia Tech at Duke: 33-24, Georgia Tech. Yellow Jackets hitting their November form again.

Michigan at Wisconsin: 38-31, Wisconsin. Badgers will remain undefeated. Just can’t see an upset to Wolverines at Madison.

Navy at Notre Dame: 35-21, Notre Dame. Irish are desperate to erase the memory of last week’s debacle.

TCU at Texas Tech: 45-28, TCU. Horned Frogs should rebound nicely at Lubbock.

Kansas State at Oklahoma State: 52-42, Oklahoma State. Cowboys will win another shootout.

Purdue at Iowa: 28-27, Iowa. Purdue much improved, but Hawkeyes get the nod at home.

UCLA at USC: 45-17, USC. Expect the same result as last season, just at a different venue.

Utah at Washington: 42-31, Washington. Huskies hard to beat at home.

Cal at Stanford: 35-10, Stanford. Known as the Big Game, it’s really only big for the people who have attended either school … unless, of course, at the end of the game the kick-return team keeps lateralling the ball a bunch of times until it runs over the band in the end zone and scores a touchdown. Then it becomes a Big Game.

Lightning-fast picks

Now here’s some really fast, no-thinking picks, winners only:

Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, Louisville, Boston College, N.C. State, Pitt, West Virginia, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Northwestern, Penn State, Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan State …

Arizona State, Arizona, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia, South Carolina, UAB, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, South Florida, Central Florida, Memphis, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Houston, Western Kentucky, Old Dominion, Louisiana Tech, Southern Mississippi, Army, Florida Atlantic, Marshall …

Central Michigan, Ohio, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Toledo, Buffalo, UNLV, Wyoming, Utah State, Colorado State, Boise State, San Diego State, Arkansas State, South Alabama, Louisiana, Idaho.

Not thinking last week: 40-19 (68 percent);

Not thinking for the season: 507-166 (75 percent)
