Week 9 college football picks … this time with an important message

Another tough week of picking games, but I’m still not going to start thinking about them. It wouldn’t be worth it, despite the advice I received from NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

I’m still not going to think about it, even though I’ve dropped to 77 percent success rate.

Get to pickin’

Here are my picks for Week 9, again, without even thinking:

N.C. State at Notre Dame: 42-35, Notre Dame. Wolfpack will give the Irish a better game than USC.

Oklahoma State at West Virginia: 48-45, West Virginia. Mountaineers’ Will Grier vs. Cowboys’ Mason Rudolph makes this a fun game to watch.

TCU at Iowa State: 31-21, TCU. Not sure the Cyclones have another upset in them.

Penn State at Ohio State: 45-24, Penn State. Should be the game of the day, but likely will seem one-sided.

Michigan State at Northwestern: 28-17, Michigan State. Wildcats tough, especially at home, but Sparty will get the win.

UCLA at Washington: 45-17, Washington. Huskies will keep mushing along at home.

Washington State at Arizona: 35-27, Washington State. Just can’t believe the Cougars will fall, but the Wildcats are only a half-game behind USC in the Pac-12 South.

USC at Arizona State: 45-24, USC. Trojans put the ugly loss to Notre Dame behind them.

Georgia at Florida: 52-10, Georgia. This is a win-win because I honestly think it’s a victory for the Gators if they actually can score 10 points.

Vanderbilt at South Carolina: 27-14, South Carolina. An advantage to the Gamecocks defense.

Mississippi State at Texas A&M: 35-31, Texas A&M. Aggies have turned a corner, but this game should be close.

Lightning-fast picks

Now here’s some really fast, no-thinking picks, winners only:

Florida State, Miami, Louisville, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Texas, Kansas State, Oklahoma …

Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Stanford, Colorado, Utah, Arkansas, Connecticut, Tennessee, Marshall, Louisiana Tech, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, UAB, UT-San Antonio …

Northern Illinois, Toledo, Akron, Colorado State, BYU, Wyoming, Fresno State, Boise State, San Diego State, South Alabama, Appalachian State, Troy, Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State, Texas State.

Not thinking last week: 42-14 (75 percent)
Not thinking for the season: 389-114 (77 percent)
